Suvarna Parthasarathi Ratha
Five thousand years ago, In the Dvapara Yuga, as decided by Lord Sri Krishna Himself in Dwaraka, the idol of Balakrishna was carved by the divine sculptor Vishwakarma out of shalagrama stone and worshipped by Rukmini Devi. Then, due to the course of events, the idol came by boat to the Udupi coast from where it was picked up by Sri Madhwacharya in the 13th Century and installed in the present Krishna Mutt premises and worshipped by monks down the centuries in the Paryaya order. The Lord with the ever-smiling face has been worshipped as ‘Anna Brahma’ and ‘Utsava Brahma’ and is pleased with annadana and utsava seva offered by devotees.

He quickly fulfils all their wishes. For this reason, devotees of Lord Sri Krishna have been offering Him various rathas and rathotsavas. The utsavas are held daily except during the rainy season. The daily rathotsava is done only in Udupi and cannot be seen anywhere else.
The present Paryaya Swamiji, His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Theertha of Sri Puthige Matha, had offered to the Lord a unique diamond-studded Navaratna Ratha during his previous Paryaya (2009-10). Now, during his fourth Paryaya, called Vishwa Gita Paryaya, to commemorate his unique Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna project and to mark his 50 years of sanyasa life, Sri Swamiji has decided to offer to the Lord a Parthasarathi Golden Chariot at an estimated cost of Rs.18 crores. This project is a golden chance for devotees to extend help and get all their desires fulfilled. All devotees of Lord Sri Krishna and all those who are part of the Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna project are invited to participate in this holy project and utilize the golden chance to fulfil their wishes. They can make donations in the form of cash or in the form of ornaments. Utsava Brahma Lord Sri Udupi Krishna, who blessed Kanakadasa, will surely bless all such devotees.
